Catalin Mahjong Tiles

Catalin is a cast phenolic resin prized for rich butterscotch, amber, and marbled color. In American mahjong tiles it is strongly associated with collectible mid-century tiles and racks; oxidation can deepen the surface color while protected areas remain lighter.
